The first power loom was designed in 1784 by Edmund Cartwright and built in 1785. It was fully automated with more intricate designs after 47 years. Power loom allowed large amounts of cloth to be woven in a shorter time than a human being could do it.

For centuries, the creation of Jacquard cloth required the collaborative efforts of teams of designers and technicians working on vastly complex equipment. In the past three decades, however, developments in loom technology and CAD systems have made it possible for a single individual to design and produce this most challenging class of textiles.

A world of wonderful opportunity awaits you with this Online Tutorial. Learn the fine skill sets and detailed initiation into the exciting world of Handloom Designing, one step at a time!
